Mumbai July 22, 2013: The 18th FCE Pharma and FCE Cosmetique, organized by NürnbergMesse Brasil from May 14-16, at the Transamerica Expo Center, have once again established themselves as the perfect environment for the generation of new businesses and the exchange of experiences between professionals from the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
With over 600 exhibiting brands, 43 of which newcomers, and with a strong international presence, the fairs drew together products, services and innovative solutions for the industries in question. 19,815 visitors attended the FCEs, which have established themselves as the main business platforms in their segments in Latin America.
The fairs presented the main trends in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries which will soon hit the market.
“Beauty and health have never been in the spotlight in Brazil as they are nowadays, and this can be confirmed by the absolute success of FCE Pharma and FCE Cosmetique. This excellent result is also a result of a long-standing partnership with ABC – the Brazilian Association of Cosmetology and Sindusfarma – the Union of the Pharmaceutical Industry, and this year, with the official support from Felascc – the Federation of Latin American Societies of Cosmetic Sciences, we have organized the XXI Colamiqc – Latin American and Iberian Congress on Cosmetic Chemicals. Such a large business fair can only be put together with partnership, a collaborative spirit and a strong desire to work together for the development of this market from everyone involved”, explains Ligia Amorim, general director of NürnbergMesse Brasil.
The positive outcome of these business fairs is also a result of the upsurge in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic segments. In 2012, earnings have reached 42 billion USD, and 1.8% of the Brazilian GDP comes from the cosmetic industry, according to ABIHPEC – the Brazilian Association of Personal Hygiene, Toiletry and Cosmetic Industries. The pharmaceutical industry has sold approximately 50 billion BRL in products, a 15.63% growth when compared with last year, when sales amounted to 42 billion BRL, according to data from Sindusfarma and IMS Health. There were 9 exhibitors from India and a host of visitors at the FCE Pharma and FCE Cosmetique 2013.
