New Delhi, November 17, 2018: One day National Workshop on “Stress Free Health Care Professionals: A Self Care and Wellness Workshop”, sponsored by Association of Pharmaceuticals Teachers of India (APTI) conducted by Geetanjali Institute of Pharmacy, Geetanjali University, Udaipur (GIP) on 18th August, 2018. The event brought together around 100 Academicians, Scientists, Doctors, Research Scholars, Dentists, Post-doctoral fellows, Nursing staff, Health care Professionals and PG medical students from different states, all over India.
The workshop was inaugurated with lighting the lamp in the presence of mother Saraswati by the guests Dr. N. K. Sharma, GM at JK Tyres and corporate trainer, Kishore Pujari, CEO, Geetanjali Hospital, Dr. Ramesh Patel, Dr. Ashok Dashora, Dr. Anju Goyal and Dr. Udichi Kataria.
In the welcome address Dr. Ashok Dashora Dean, GIP & convenor of the workshop welcomed all the dignitaries and delegates in one day workshop. He continued his words and talked about his mission towards vision & values. He talked about how Geetanjali University and workshop is creating a platform and resource to explore about the root cause identification of stress and stress management techniques. He thanked Geetanjali University for support in this lifelong learning process.
After the welcome address, the keynote session started with a talk by Dr. Kishore Pujari, CEO, GMCH discussed with that all living creatures experience stress every day. While doing adjustment in environment, our body and mind get stressful. Stress is nothing but the gap between expectations and reality. Several external and internal factors causes stress like family, society and working area etc. We have to play different role everyday in our life. Its not easy to control your mind in everyday life. There are many yoga guru’s who teach you how to control your mind.
Dr. Ramesh Patel, Consultant Cardiologist, GMCH talked that stress is body’s response to physical, chemical and emotional reactions. Long term effects of stress are change in heart rate, increase in blood pressure and increase in cholesterol level. There are two types of personalities type A and B. Most of us are type A which shows excessive anger, aggressiveness and impropriate competitiveness. Stress increases the risk of heart disease by 10%, Heart attack by 25%. He discussed some ideas for coping with stress by safe eating and drinking, saying no is OK, regular exercise, relax and stop smoking. He shows his way to deal with stress: enjoy in difficult situations, outing with friends and spent time with family and play with kids.
This was followed by a talk by Dr. Udichi Kataria, organising secretary of workshop & Associate Professor, GIP explained that stress is so much to do in less time with less energy where we can only deal with energy. She talked about how to manage our energy with good food, sleep, breathing exercise and a happy mind which we can do with mind management.
Dr. N. K. Sharma started with how man and women deal with stress in daily life. He said women go through more tress in day to day life in male dominating society but male are more in stress because women are more stable. He talked about emotional health which is balance between your work and your health and how you keep disturb emotion with you as baggage which disturbs yourself. He also talked about quality professionals, quality work and Intellectual wellness.
The post scientific session of the workshop was followed by yoga session by a Master Trainer i.e. Dr. Guneet Monga Bhargava, Head of Department, Faculty of Yoga, Pacific University, Udaipur.
The workshop was concluded by Dr. Anju Goyal, Professor, BNIPS, Udaipur and Co-ordinator, APTI, Women Forum, Rajasthan Branch with vote of thanks.
