Focusing on awareness and testing camps against sexually transmitted diseases
Bengaluru, November 25, 2015: OnePlus, a fast growing global technology startup, has partnered with Oxxy, India’s largest healthcare network to bring forth to India’s youth to educate on STD (sexually transmitted diseases) and invites youth for check-ups at camps which will be held in different parts of the Country under this partnership.
Oxxy has been under the process to providing Indians with affordable and transparent healthcare and has put in a lot of effort and work with its Swastha Bharat initiative. Now it is educating the youth about STDs and in the coming months a number of initiatives have been planned through the partnership with OnePlus. Existing OnePlus users wishing to avail the free medical tests shall also be provided with a chance to get themselves tested at these medical camps. One Plus has always been into demand because of its “Invites”, now the partnership offers free Invites to all who care and support in the awareness campaign for HIV/ AIDS.
Speaking on Oxxy’s efforts towards providing better healthcare opportunities, Pankaj Gupta, Founder Oxxy said, “We at OXXY have always been working towards the aim of a healthier nation. Awareness and education on STD’s is still lacking in the country. We are glad that companies like One Plus who are so popular amongst the youth is an integral part of the campaign to educate the masses. Oxxy is working as a monitoring unit for controlling health care prices throughout the country”.
India has one of the highest numbers of people infected with STDs and yet people are shy of getting them tested for fear of stigma where some of them cannot afford it. This is a first-of-it’s-kind of partnership, pushing the society to come out of its shell and talk about STDs, which is becoming a rampant problem and a silent killer of sorts. Most people are still uncomfortable discussing STDs, but with such alliances to attract the youth through technology and healthcare with incentives that interest them, the situation will surely look up for the betterment of the society.
“ OnePlus sincerely believes that the only way to a healthy life is to be aware of possibilities of contracting the disease and therefore we are facilitating this opportunity free of cost to the youth. We are happy to partner with Oxxy and do our bit to ensure we create a healthier society.”adds Mr Karan Sarin, Head of Marketing – India, OnePlus on this novel initiative.
GODOFWORLD chain of Hospitals has also partnered in the initiative for bringing awareness to masses about STDs. Sheetal Kapoor, Founder OXXY added “We are glad to extend our support to the initiative with our 40 hospitals spread across the country and will be soon screening for STD’s free of cost for the youth and masses.
