Optum addressed industry professionals on relevance of product platforms at ProductCamp Hyderabad

National, March 21, 2018: Optum, the health services business of UnitedHealth Group- a Fortune 6 company, was a sponsor at the ProductCamp Hyderabad conference to deliberate upon the relevance of product platforms across industries. With an aim to educate IT professionals on the various processes involved, from ideation to commercialization, Optum held a panel discussion on the topic – Indian mind-set shift to product management.

Multiple sessions by industry professionals sharing their personal experiences in the field of creating and delivering products to market, were the highlight of this conference. Over 300 professionals attended this conference to learn about key developments in the industry, get their queries answered by experts and thus grow and impact the sector.

Talking about the conference, Mr. Yogesh Rao, Head, Product Management and International Products, Optum Global Solutions said, “There are three primary ways for product managers to listen to their customers and market – speak with customers, speak with people who speak with customers (sales, support, etc.) or use data and analytics. By devising novel tools to support research we can bridge distances between healthcare product users and the global product teams that service them. Keeping this in mind it is very essential for professionals to develop good product management skills and thus be able to deliver on great customer experiences. Our aim to participate in the Product Camp was to reiterate these messages to existing and aspiring professionals in the industry.”

Vinod Vitthal, Product Management leader with Optum, spoke at a breakout session on running product management for global products from India. This session was well received by the attendees. He shared the lessons Optum has learned over several years of developing products for the US market from India.

ProductCamp Hyderabad provides a platform for professionals to find out the latest developments, discover new ideas, and network with their peers. It saw participation from product managers, digital marketers, product planners/strategists, product developers, program managers, business analysts, market researchers, user experience designers and start-up professionals.
