New Delhi, January 20, 2018: To provide tertiary medical care to the people of Ranchi, Paras Healthcare and Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) are jointly setting up a 300 bedded hospital in the city. This will be Paras Healthcare’s eighth hospital in the country which will take the overall capacity of the Paras chain of hospitals to 1305 beds spread across the country. Paras has recently raised Rs 275 crore from private equity fund Creador to finance the next round of its planned expansion of another 1000 beds. The new hospital in Ranchi is part of this expansion plan. The group is also building another super specialty hospital with a capacity of 225 bed at Panchkula, the satellite city of Chandigarh, and another mother and child care facility with 50 beds at Noida in the national capital region.
“We have always been focusing on providing quality tertiary healthcare services across north Indian states and with our super specialty facilities in Gurgaon, Patna and Darbhanga already serving a large number of patient from the region. The new facility in Ranchi will help us further pursue our goal of bridging the healthcare accessibility gap in this part of the country. We are actively looking at other North Indian cities for opening new hospitals that can help people avail quality healthcare in affordable prices. ,” said Dr Dharminder Nagar, MD, Paras Healthcare.
Dr. Nagar added that the new project will directly impact the life of more than 10 million Indians residing in Ranchi and surrounding areas such as Bokaro, Jamshedpur, Dumri&Rourkhela. At present people in the industrial town of Jharkhand need to travel to other cities for medical needs, especially for tertiary medical care such as cancer, bone marrow transplant, kidney transplant, heart ailments, disorders of nerves and brain and bone related operations.
Paras Hospitals, Ranchi is being set up under Design – Build – Finance- Operate & Transfer (DBFOT) basis on public-private partnership by Paras and HEC where in the land for the hospital is being provided by HEC while Paras will bring its healthcare expertise and manage the day to day operations. The operations and management project has been signed with Paras taking the success of Paras Hospital Patna and Paras Hospital Darbhanga into consideration.
Paras Healthcare at present has 5 operational hospitals in India and two more are soon to be commissioned in the coming financial year. The current foot print includes Gurgaon, New Delhi, Panchkula, Patna and Darbhanga. The new units are planned in Noida and Panchkula.
