Remedies to Remove Sun Tan Instantly By Dr. Kiran Lohia

Bengaluru, June 02, 2016

1. Sunburns: The summer sun is so harsh that it can scorch your skin, causing red patches, rashes that give a burning sensation. This happens more in people who have sensitive skin. In simple language, it is the sun burning up your soft and sensitive skin. Logically, the only way to protect your skin against this condition is minimize sun exposure. At the same time equally important is to wear sunscreen religiously. Apply a sun block cream liberally all over your face, neck and arms 20 minutes before stepping out. Make sure you re-apply the same every 4 hours to ensure continuous protection. It is also advisable to people who have sensitive skin to wear clothes covering as much skin as possible during the day time. Ending your day with an aloe vera gel face pack will cool down the sun burnt skin.

To Remove Sunburn One Must:

1 – Apply Cooling Gauze Soaks

Soak gauze in cold water, and apply to burning red skin multiple times throughout the day

2 – Soothing Milk Compresses

You can even soak compresses in cold milk, and apply it to skin. Milk has soothing and hydrating actives that calm sunburns.

3 – Aloe Vera

Put Alovera Gel in the fridge and apply copious amounts to the face to calm and prevent irritation. The more calm your skin is, the better it will heal

4 – Avoid Suds

Do not use any foaming or irritating washes on the face. The most important thing to do in sunburn is use cream cleansers that are non-foaming like Cetaphil or Episoft or Sensibio H20 no more than twice a day.

5 – Vaseline or Petroleum Jelly

Now that your skin is burned, your epidermis is at its weakest so it is letting all the moisture, nutrients and minerals out from the skin. To prevent further damage, apply vaseline or petroleum jelly on the face throughout the day. This will form a barrier that will prevent more actives or hydration from leaving the skin.

6- Don’t Go Out In the Sun and Make Sure You Wear Sun block

Now that your skin is already burnt, you need to stay away from the sun while your skin is healing. Wear a mineral based sun block at least 2 times a day whether you are indoors or outdoors, and make sure you apply at least 2 tablespoons for the face each time.

2. Tanning: When exposed to the sun’s UV radiation, the skin’s melanin reacts by forming a protective shield. The melanin results in dark pigmentation, either uniformly all over or in patches on the skin. The result is what we call skin darkening, tanning or hyper-pigmentation. Using sunscreen of at least 30 SPF and reapplying is important, so is wearing sunglasses to prevent dark circles. To undo the effects of tanning, seek procedures like laser skin rejuvenation, chemical peels or Microdermabrasion. Your dermatologist will suggest the right procedure for your needs.

To Remove Tan One Must:

1 – ButterMilk Face Pack

Buttermilk has a natural ingredient called Lactic Acid in it, which is a major component of most chemical peels. It exfoliates the dull, dead and tanned layer of the skin. So apply buttermilk for 10-20 minutes then wash off for a natural tan reduction

2 – Don’t Forget Utans

Many times, a natural exfoliation is all you need. Ubtans made of besan can do the job gently and naturally. Wet besan and apply to your face. Once it dries, exfoliate off in gentle circular motions with water. Don’t rub too hard or your skin will get irritated and red! Do this no more than once a week.

3 – Tomatoes Also Work

Tomatoes also contain Alpha-hYdroxy acids, again an ingredient in peels that help exfoliate dead skin cells. It is also a potent source of antioxidants, thereby counteracting the oxidative damage from your tan. Make a Tomato and Yogurt face pack, apply for ten minutes than wash off for glorious results!

4 – Pineapple Juice and Honey Face Mask

Pineapple is chock full of Vitamin C and gentle peeling acid, while Honey soothes and hydrates. Mix and apply to the skin for a few minutes than wash off for a gorgeous glow!

5 – Sugar and Rosehip Oil

Sugar is a natural exfoliant while Rosehip oil is chock full of minerals, natural essential fatty acids and Vitamin A for gentle rejuvenation. Combine together and gently use on the face as a mild scrub for a lovely natural tan removal.

6 – Wear Your Sun block

IF you get a tan, that means you are not protecting yourself from the sun. Make sure you wear a sunscreen with both UVA and UVB protection of at least PA++ and SPF30 and above. Make sure you wear at least 2 tablespoons of sun block at a time or it won’t form enough a barrier against the sun. And reapply twice a day – once in the morning and once in the afternoon. And make sure you apply whether you are indoors or outdoors, and no matter what the weather condition.

7 – Stay Out of the Sun

Remember to stay away from the sun to prevent further tanning as well. Make sure you reduce your sun exposure as much as possible, and stay out of the open sun especially between the hours of 12-4pm when the UV rays are the strongest.

8 – Diamond Microdermabrasion

One of the fastest ways to get rid of a tan is to physically exfoliate it with diamond crystals. IT will instantly get rid of the tan without any side effects or risks. Diamond crystals have the unique ability to deeply exfoliate instantly, removing your tan in just minutes.
