New Delhi, March 15, 2018: In the Budget Speech of 2018-19, the Government has announced to launch a flagship National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS) to cover over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families (approx. 50 crore beneficiaries) providing coverage upto Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary hospitalization. The contours of the scheme are yet to be finalized.
The Minister of State (Health and Family Welfare), Smt Anupriya Patel stated this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha here today.
