Gurgaon, March 27, 2016: On the occasion of 24th World Water Day, the ‘We Are Water Foundation’, an initiative of Roca launched a global awareness action- #NOWALKING4WATER. Supporting the global campaign, Roca brought #NOWALKING4WATER campaign to Indiathathighlighted the importance of water for both- Urban and Rural India. As part of the campaign, a two days awareness drive was organized in the heart of the city- DLF Cyber Hub, Gurgaon that concluded today. Through this initiative, Roca sensitized masses about the life challenges of villagers for collecting water to meet their daily necessities and collectively pledged along with participants for #NOWALKING4WATER. On this occasion, Roca announced donation of a ‘Well’ to Garimakullapali B. village (District: Mamilapalli), Andhra Pradesh that willmake water accessible to more than 190 families.
During the two (2) days activity, the brand organized an interesting and engaging simulation exercise for urban populace. Roca promoted the activation through mass media inviting participation. The activity involved participants carrying heavy pot filled with water across a broken bridge, thereby passing the experience of the villagers’ life and efforts that are put into for fetching water. This creative experiential engagement led to 321 participants pledging #NOWALKING4WATER to support the cause on completing the walk and further appreciate the precious water availability in the city.
