Sankara Eye Hospital Conducts Eye Health Awareness Session at Sant Atulanand Residential Academy, Varanasi

Varanasi, April 25, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to community outreach and preventive eye health education, RJ Sankara Eye Hospital conducted an interactive awareness session on “Healthy Eyes” and “Career Prospects in Ophthalmology” at Sant Atulanand Residential Academy. The session, led by Dr. Divya Bhargavi, benefited approximately 100 students and created valuable awareness around eye care and the importance of early prevention.

Organized as part of the hospital’s ongoing school outreach and awareness initiative, the session aimed to educate students on maintaining good eye health, understanding common eye problems, and adopting preventive practices from an early age. Through a creative projector-based presentation and interactive demonstrations, students were engaged in discussions around eye hygiene, digital eye strain, nutrition for healthy vision, early detection of eye issues, and preventive eye care practices.

The session was designed to be highly interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and participate actively. The engaging format helped simplify important eye health concepts and made the session both informative and relatable for the young audience. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty alike, reflecting strong interest in the subject.

In addition to eye health awareness, the session also introduced students to career prospects in ophthalmology, offering insights into opportunities within the field and sparking curiosity among participants about careers in healthcare and vision sciences. Students were also given an overview of the services offered by Sankara Eye Hospital and the institution’s commitment to accessible and quality eye care.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Divya Bhargavi said, Awareness at a young age is essential in building lifelong healthy eye care habits. Through this session, we aimed to help students understand the importance of eye hygiene, prevention and early attention to vision concerns, while also introducing them to the exciting possibilities within ophthalmology as a career.”

The awareness camp resulted in high engagement, meaningful interaction, and increased awareness among students regarding eye health, hygiene, and preventive care. It also generated encouraging interest in ophthalmology as a potential career path among the participants.

This initiative is part of RJ Sankara Eye Hospital’s broader mission to promote eye health awareness at the community level through regular outreach programs in schools and institutions. Similar awareness sessions are planned in other educational institutions as part of the hospital’s continued efforts to educate and empower young minds on the importance of vision care.
