New Delhi January 10, 2014: The drug company, Sanofi plans to expand access to the data and information related to its clinical trials, which are sponsored by Sanofi group of companies. This initiative aims at promoting the set of guidelines related to sharing clinical trial data. Those guidelines were released in July 2013 as Principles for Responsible Sharing of Clinical Trial Data by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).

The company has always contributed to sharing clinical trials data and the results to relevant researchers and patients. The company believes that sharing of successful and unsuccessful results with other researchers can help in speeding up the process of finding new therapies. It can also help in reducing duplication and the findings of one trial can benefit the future researchers.

As announced, Sanofi will provide access to data and documents related to clinical trial. This would also include Clinical Study Reports (CSR), for clinical studies sponsored by Sanofi companies conducting clinical studies in humans. Also, the company would continue submitting results for publication irrespective of their outcomes. IGMPI
