Bengaluru, November 20, 2017: As one of the major CSR activities of country’s largest lender State Bank of India, Mr. P.K. Gupta, Managing Director (R&DB), SBI today inaugurated “SBI – St. John’s Child Dialysis Centre”. This is an exclusive Centre for children at St. John’s Hospital, Bengaluru and the bank has donated Advanced Dialysis Equipments worth Rs. 45 lakhs to the hospital on the occasion of Children’s Day. Mr. Farooque Shahab, Chief General Manager, SBI, Bengaluru Circle was also present in the inauguration ceremony.
SBI – St.John’s Child Dialysis Centre serves the purpose of providing an exclusive child kidney care centre to treat the less privileged children of the society. Father Pradeep Kumar Samad, Associate Director, Father Jesudoss Rajamanickam, Associate Director Finance and Dr. Aparna Iyengar Professor & Head, Department of Pediatric Nephrology from St. John’s Hospital were present in the inaugural function.
On this occasion, Mr. P.K. Gupta, MD (R&DB), SBI said, “The smiles on the faces of those children who can be saved will be more than enough. As SBI, we want to be partners with the development of the society and contribute to the society in which we are operating”. He further added, “For us, it’s a matter of privilege and honor that you allowed us an opportunity to contribute to the great work that you as an institution have been doing and contributing to the general overall improvement in the health of the people”.
