Mumbai, November 03, 2015: In India cataract has been reported to be responsible for 50-80% of the bilaterally blind in the country. As the 60+ population is slated to increase to over a 100 million mark by 2016 the population “at-risk” of blinding cataract is also deemed to increase.
Cases of abandoned and ignored elderly who seldom are given proper care and treatment is also growing. In such circumstances most of them who suffer from Cataract are mostly left to lead a very uncomfortable life.
Scavin eyewear has joined hands with HelpAge India to provide necessary treatment for this curable blindness. As a part of its giving back to the society initiative Scavin will donate a pair of vision glasses for each online sales to a person in need.
