New Delhi, August 22, 2016: Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriuclture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Devendra Chaudhry reviewed the progress on the resolutions and recommendations made in the one-day brainstorming workshop on developing a dynamic roadmap for harmonization of production and quality control of veterinary biologicals in India in a meeting held in New Delhi. Establishing quality management system in the institute and automation of process in the institute, development of uniform SOPs for QC testing of vaccines, awareness of farmers on the benefits of the vaccination in livestock to enhance productivity and training of vaccinators were emphasized to achieve the national mandate of food and nutritional security. Shri Chaudhry stressed on the development of database of animal diseases through collection of passive data, active research and documentation of Vaccine Adverse Reactions. The implementation of all these activities will support the farmers in long term through rearing of healthy and productive livestock by use of standard, efficient and safe veterinary biologicals.
The meeting was attended by the senior officers of the department and the officials of CCS National Institute of Animal Health (CCS NIAH).
