New Delhi, July 19, 2016: Shri Jual Oram, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs met Shri J P Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, here today. Shri Jual Oram expressed concern about the rising cases of Jaundice and Dengue in Barbil and neighbouring areas in Keonjhar district of Odisha, which have reached more than 600 cases, and requested for a team of doctors to be sent to the State to assist it in managing the situation.
Responding to the request, Shri J P Nadda spoke to the Health Minister of Odisha, Shri Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak and discussed the Dengue situation in the State. He assured the State Health Minister of full cooperation and Central Government support in its efforts. Shri Nadda stated that the Health Ministry is geared up to send a team of doctors to Odisha to extend all necessary support to strengthen its efforts towards management of Dengue in the State. The Union Health Minister stated that the Centre is ready to extent all assistance to the State in terms of preventive and curative measures for managing the situation in Odisha.
Shri Nayak, Health Minister of Odisha thanked Shri Nadda and informed him that presently the situation was under control and he would request for the Health Ministry’s assistance if and when the need arises.
