TCS pilot in digitisation of health records in Telangana

Hyderabad, December 12, 2015: IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is doing a pilot in Telangana to test a model to digitise health records of people. The pilot is happening in Gajwel in Medak district, the constituency of Telangana IT and Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao.

“After the pilot, we will roll out this across the State, covering all 3.6 crore people in the State. The digitised records would be put in the cloud, making it easier for doctors and patients access them. TCS is doing the pilot. People can access the records using their unique identity numbers,” Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao told Business Line.

“We will follow all the safety protocols to keep the information secure. If records are digitised, it will be easy for people to have medical opinion from anywhere. They need not carry the bulky reports with them,” he said.

Incubators

The T-HUB, the start-up incubator set up at IIIT (Hyderabad) will soon have an exclusive incubator for the animation and gaming industry. It would be inaugurated on December 5. “We are planning a host of incubators there. This would include an incubator for aerospace and defence technologies. This would come up in March 2016,” the Minister said.

Innovation Fund

The Government would make a budgetary provision for the Innovation Fund that it set up to assist the start-ups coming at the T-Hub. The Minister, however, refused indicate a number, saying that the fund was started with a seed fund of ₹10 crore. “We have requested the Chief Minister for a big sum to make the fund a big one,” he said.-BusinessLine
