Thankful to Prime Minister for raising issues of Preventable Maternal and Child Deaths, Dengue in ‘Mann Ki Baat’: Shri J P Nadda

New Delhi, August 31, 2015: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Shri J P Nadda has expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for raising important health issues, that have always been given high priority by him, in today’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’, broadcast from the All India Radio.

Shri Nadda stated that the Prime Minister has righty highlighted contemporary and relevant health issues such as ending all preventable maternal and child deaths in the country and simple steps to prevent Dengue.

The Health Minister said that the Prime Minister has noted, while we have made impressive progress in appreciably reducing maternal and child deaths in the country and the world is taking note of these achievements, there is a long way to go. No mother and child should die of causes that can be easily prevented.

“We shall rise to the challenge of ending all preventable maternal and child deaths in the country along with the States,” said Shri Nadda.

The Health Minister also stated that the emphasis on preventing Dengue through simple measures in the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ will create widespread awareness about maintaining sanitation and hygiene in our surroundings and protection from Dengue.
