New Delhi December 6, 2013: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare examines the new Drugs and Cosmetics (Amendment) Bill, 2013. This bill is considering establishing the Central Drugs Administration (CDA). There are recommendations made to consider the inclusion of guidelines for Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) in the proposed Bill.
As per the request, this inclusion of GPP guideline for distribution and sale of medicines is required to safeguard the distribution and sale of these drugs. This is specifically with regards to the retail or chemist shops regarding scheduled, other drugs or filling prescriptions.
The Principal Act has specified best practices under Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines. However, the Act presently does not speak about GPP. CCI Newswire
