The Sleep Company all set to disrupt mattress market

New Delhi, September 29, 2019: The Sleep Company was established with a mission to upgrade the sleep quality of every person. Our mattresses are the outcome of years of research and each layer has been crafted with sleep Science at its foundation, to make sure you Happy & Healthy sleep.

The company has quickly become recognized in the rapidly growing mattress market in India with its unique offering- the patent-pending Super Stretchy SMART GRID mattress also happen to be Asia’s First Smart Grid Mattress. It is the only mattress that intelligently adapts to every human body type.

The Smart Grid buckles down, on hips & shoulder to give customer a soft feeling, while it is firm at back, keeping the spine straight. This helps in reducing pain points and ensuring a comfortable sleep all night every night.

According to pharma major GSK’s 2017 Global Pain Index, after Poland, India reported the highest average number of sick days due to body pain. In such a scenario, the mattress has created a new segment by promoting a healthy body.

There have not been much innovation in this industry in India – we all continue to use same old mattresses made of foam, spring, coir, memory foam (developed in the 1960s) despite of the fact that sleep is a critical aspect of our lives. So, when Priyanka Salot became a mother and was looking for options for comfort and back pain relief, she could not find anything great. She left her job and got obsessed with the pursuit of changing the mattress Industry which had seen little innovation since 1960.

She visited a lot of companies across the world such as Japan, Europe, US and met hundreds of technicians and sleep experts until to do research on new technologies into sleep. Finally, she met Dr. Tripathi and his team who was having 40 years of experience with DRDO and different material sciences. Priyanka spent years in research and ran thousands of trials – until they finally came up with the patent-pending Super Stretchy SMART GRID mattress.

So what will drive the growth? Lifestyle coupled with an increased awareness that the mattress and health will go together in aiding the growth of the market. Already, a visible shift has been observed in the consumers’ perspective, where the main focus is on the comfort and functionality of the product.

According to estimates, the Indian mattress industry would reach Rs 14,000 crore by 2021 at a compound annual growth rate of 9%. So, there is a huge potential in this segment.
