100 units collected at blood donation camp conducted by PGI’s Blood Transfusion Department on company’s Panchkula premises; another 50 volunteer to pledge organs
Panchkula, Aug 25, 2015: Venus Remedies Limited, a global R&D-driven pharmaceutical company, organised a blood and organ donation camp in its Panchkula premises on Saturday, where about 100 people donated blood and another 50 pledged their organs.
Conducted by the Blood Transfusion Department of the PGI in association with Venus Army, the social welfare wing of Venus Remedies, the 7th blood donation camp organised by Venus Remedies saw many company employees and their family members contributing to the noble cause. About 100 units of blood collected during the camp will be sent to the PGI Blood Bank.
Venus Remedies also organised an organ donation camp to motivate people to pledge their organs. About 50 people agreed to donate their organs by filling registration forms. A free health check-up camp was also organised, where a team of doctors from Ivy Hospital, Mohali examined patients.
