New Delhi, September 25, 2019: “Ayushman Bharat- National Health Protection Mission (AB-NHPM) is a revolutionary Scheme by Narendra Modi government. In just a year’s time, above 39 lakh people have availed cashless treatment worth over Rs. 6,100 crore for serious illnesses, resulting in savings of Rs. 12,000 crore to the beneficiary families. 53 percent of 18,073 healthcare facilities empanelled to deliver benefits under the initiative belong to the private sector. When it comes to rural sector, implementation of Ayushman Bharat has led to an upgradation of health services. Even the acute shortage of qualified medical professionals in rural India can be countered by the relaunch of 1,50,000 health sub-centres and primary health centres (PHCs) as ‘health and wellness centres’ under the scheme. Even the empanelled hospitals have helped Gramin Healthcare to fulfill the vision of providing affordable healthcare services and last-mile access to quality healthcare,” said Mr Ajoy Khandheria, Founder, Gramin Healthcare.
