World Pharmacists Day 2015: Celebration and Promotion of Pharmacy Profession

International pharmacist federation (FIP), the global federation of national association of pharmacists and Pharmaceutical scientists in official relation with the World Health Organization organizes a day which is specifically dedicated to Pharmacists i.e., World Pharmacist Day. The theme of 2015, given by FIP is “Pharmacist’s: Your Partner in Health”.

SGT College of pharmacy organized “World Pharmacist day” on 25th September 2015 at 09:30 A.M. onwards. The program was divided into two sessions: technical session which included Poster session, Rangoli session, Quiz competition, Just a minute session and Academic session, proceeded by Prof. S. K. Sharma, Principal SGTCP by highlighting the theme of this year and welcomed the esteemed guests Shri. S. L. Nasa, Honorable Registrar, Delhi Pharmacy Council, New Delhi, India, Prof. Daleep Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor of SGT University, Gurgaon, India. The eminent guest Shri S. L. Nasa gave his valuable speech on the current status of Pharmacy profession, the latest developments taking place in various areas including education regulations, newer courses like degree in pharmacy practice, Pharm D. and latest gazette notifications issued by Pharmacy Council of India, India and attempts being made for creating more jobs, the new paradigm coming in for the upliftment of pharmacy education and various other issues related to the pharmacy profession.

Students of SGT College of pharmacy participated with full enthusiasm in all the technical activities by making posters and Rangolis on the theme of this year. They were felicitated by Sh. S. L. Nasa, Prof. Daleep Singh and Dr. Kamlesh Kohli, Director, Faculty of Medical and Allied Sciences, with the certificates and blessings. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Vandana Chaudhary.
