ASPA Supports Pharmasafe India 2015

Mumbai, November 26, 2015 : ASPA announced its support for Pharmasafe India, a two-day comprehensive Conference on Anti-Counterfeiting and Brand Protection started today and will continue till tomorrow (24, 25 November, 2015) at Courtyard Marriott, Mumbai. The conference will bring together industry delegates and speakers representing cross-section of stake-holders: top business leaders from Pharmaceutical manufacturing companies, Pharmacists, Anti-counterfeiting solutions and services providers, Government and regulatory authorities etc., at a common platform to enable panel discussions, presentations, sharing of insights, best practices and strategies to tackle the Counterfeiting challenge in India.

Usage of authentication solutions in product packaging ensure that a consumer get the genuine product. Further with the help of IT and mobile based solutions, brand owners, govt. authorities and consumer can easily identified them via website, mobile app or SMS verification. We look forward for positive responses from Government and Industries to make safe and secure Pharma in India, he further stated.

Addressing the conference Mr. Nityanand Shenoy, Governing Body Member of ASPA highlighted the views on, “How to select authentication solutions according to Brand owner’s needs. Fighting counterfeiting need a strategy which should include, analysis of problem, the organisation commitment towards fighting counterfeiting, the right selection of authentication solutions and its proper implementation.

The conference programme will feature presentations, case studies and panel discussions addressing topics such as: Indian Pharma- Counterfeit Market overview, Coordinated efforts against counterfeiting – role of industry association, retailers and pharmacists; Overview of authentication solutions and technologies, effect of parallel trade on the industry and ways to tackle it; Government initiatives, regulations, policies and strategies against drug counterfeiting; usage of mobile product authentication for protection against counterfeiting; packaging innovations and latest development in track & trace technologies.
