Inaugurated the waiting room for Patients at the healthcare centre 

Tadipatri, September 16, 2016: Gerdau, the leading producer of long steel in the Americas and one of the largest suppliers of special steel in the world, have adopted five villages under the smart village ward initiative by the government of Andhra Pradesh. In their continual quest at providing better infrastructural facilities for the villagers, Gerdau recently inaugurated a waiting room for the patients at the primary health centre in Chukkalur village. The primary health centre is strategically located and serves a population of 52,000 villagers who reside in 42 villages in Tadipatri Mandal.

The company in line with government initiatives to improve the standard of living of the villagers has taken this step to help the patients who visit this centre in large numbers regularly.

“To fulfil our commitment towards the community we ensure that we undertake various programmes in different parts of the Mandal at regular intervals. Gerdau has also undertaken several development initiatives which enable us to achieve sustainable development. They include initiatives such as providing sanitation facilities, organising medical camps and distributing LED lights” said Mr. Sridhar Krishnamoorthy, Managing Director, Gerdau Steel India.
