Inspired by recent efforts to curb black money in India, Healthians extends its support to the cause with its one-of-a-kind Activity- Being a Healthy Hand to People in queue

New Delhi, November 18, 2016: In wake of the recent demonetization of high value currency to curb black money in India, many people have begun to rush towards banks and ATMs in a state of panic and stress. To alleviate their anxiety, Healthians.com, a leading diagnostic and wellness start-up, has begun free health camps outside select bank branches across Delhi/NCR to monitor the stress level of individuals standing for long hours in the queue.

The free health check-up camp conducted by Healthians commenced last weekend across several branches of HDFC bank and Standard Chartered bank in Gurgaon and West Delhi region. The unique service has gained much appreciation by customers, who see it as an opportunity to relieve stress while waiting for their turn at these banks.

Commenting on the initiative, Asit Jenamani, AVP Operations – Healthians.com said, “While the honorable PM of India – Mr. Narendra Modi is working towards the better financial health of the nation, Healthians is working towards ensuring better health of its citizens with a small contribution in this space.”

During the check-ups conducted at these banks, the most common health issues detected were high BP and rise in blood sugar. Due to instances of standing for hours in queues, the blood pressure level was found to be on the higher side in 64% of the people checked, while 19% were reported with increased blood sugar levels. Healthians also conducted body fat analysis for patients to determine the extent of damage caused by stress on their overall well-being.

“Since most people generally ignore health issues and make it a last priority, we want to remind people that good health is their greatest asset and they should not delay regular check-ups before it’s too late. Thus, with this unique initiative, we wish to ensure that all citizens of India lead a healthier and stress free lifestyle,” he added.

Healthians is planning to conduct such health camps free of cost at more banks and ATMs across Delhi/NCR over the next weekend, with up to 100-200 individuals expected to be screened in each of these camps. So far, more than 1800 people have undergone free heath check-up at these sites.

While initially people were hesitant of going through these tests owing to the possibility of losing their position in the line, they eventually began to come in for check-ups in groups of three and five after being assured of their position by Healthians’ volunteers, who stood in line on their behalf.

Moreover, many bank employees also took the benefit of these health camps. Since Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes are no longer valid, requests made for booking appointment with old currency were courteously denied. However, upon completion of these check-ups, all customers were referred to book an appointment with Healthians online at their official website.
