Issar Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. (Issar Pharma) is a pioneer in the research and development of peptide-based health care products and their commercialization. The corporate office of Issar Pharma is located at Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. It has two units in operation with a state-of-the-art facility located in the industrial area of Medchal and Special Economic Zone of Pharma at Alexandria Knowledge Park, Shameerpet, Hyderabad, India. Issar Pharma is using the most modern and advanced automatic equipment for the development of peptide therapeutics. Issar Pharma has various departments for synthesis, purification and manufacture of peptide-based drugs. Mr. Ravinder Reddy is IT executive at ISSAR Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd.
Like many IT people at similarly sized companies, Ravinder wears a lot of hats. “I’m the Microsoft Exchange server guy, the network guy; I fix computers and manage servers.” He oversees workstations and servers on the local network. His environment runs a mix of Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
Time for Change
Over a period of time, Ravinder has used various Antivirus softwares to protect the data and provide more user friendly environment to the employees of Issar Pharma. They needed to move away from existing Antivirus Protection to something faster and lighter.
The machine performance with the earlier Antivirus was slow. During the scans, you could tell it was scanning. It took so many resources away from the machine to such an extent that all the other applications, like Microsoft Office, ran slow. We needed a better solution.”

Acting on a tip from systems integrator, Ravinder decided to bring ESET in for an evaluation, because according to them ESET’s overhead was minimal while offering the required feature set. Along with ESET, Ravinder also evaluated some of the big brands Antivirus and found that ESET’s performance is better.

In choosing ESET, Ravinder had specific objectives he wanted to procure a product at Issar Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd that would not interfere with the performance of server or work machines, protect local machines from viruses, protect the email server from viruses, and have it all easy to deploy, learn and manage through a centralized console.
Biggest Change After Installing ESET
After deploying ESET, Ravinder and his team noticed many differences. “Right away, we noticed improved system stability and performance compared to earlier Antivirus, which by comparison had been a processor hog. ESET, on the other hand had much less system impact while offering the same protection.”

“ESET RA is easier to use, and much better,” said Ravinder. “Earlier AV’s management console was more complex and not nearly as user-friendly. With ESET, I didn’t need to read any books to go in and start using it. And, I didn’t need a Level 3 training class. In fact, no training was required at all, because everything was so intuitive.”
